Below is a message I sent out to update many of my Facebook friends on Tuesday afternoon which pretty much sums any news with us up. We'd had a phone conversation that morning - that we were very nervous and excited about - with the main representative in Ireland. I just keep reminding myself- Yes, God can even work His will through nervous silence in a conversation, lags responses due to distance, and bad echoes due to two people on the same conference call on two different phones in the same room! :-)

Thanks to all of you who prayed for our phone conversation today with Eric in Ireland! It seemed to go very well, and it looks like we are moving on to the next step which is a 6-12 month mentoring program and discipleship course. We learned a few interesting things about the process and what World Harvest Missions (WHM) is doing there now. We also sketched out a very loose timeline with the understanding that God could completely change it at any time. We like that Eric even mentioned God could be working in many different ways: Us with WHM in Ireland, us in Ireland through another organization, us with WHM in another country, or any other number of avenues. As he said, "It's a lot easier for God to drive us in the right direction when we have ourselves out of "Park" and in gear."
As for now, it looks like we may take our vision trip over there in the summer of 2012 when they have a prayer conference. If that is the case, we would start the full run process (officially being a part of WHM) somewhere in the fall of that year and hope to be in Ireland by the summer of 2014. That's about the timeline Kev and I had been thinking as well. That would put Derek in college, Malachi a senior in HS, Lauren going into the 8th grade and Elijah into 6th.
Also, for those of you who don't know, Kevin has decided to go by his legal name, Ruel, when we move. So if you hear me say something about Ruel and I for over there please know it's still the same man for me! :-)
We ask for your continued prayer and support through this process and can't wait to have more to tell you all!
May you see God today-
(We sure have!)
Tiffany
